Cosmo Ingredients is commited to maintaining the highest standards in terms of food quality and food safety throughout the entire production process. We believe these issues to be the responsibility of all our employees as well.
As such, all materials come supplied with a Certificate of Analysis (CoA); our Quality Assurance team conducts inspections to ensure that the materials comply with appropriate standards. Further, we engage third-party laboratories, certified with ISO 17025, to perform physical, chemical and biological analyses on our finished products, plant equipment and facilities and on personnel hygiene.
We are committed to maintaining a hygienic processing environment in order to deliver safe and high-quality products. Our manufacturing plants are carefully designed and evaluated for a range of possible food safety risks. We have also developed and maintain proper controlled procedures which include cleaning, sanitation and waste management, personal hygiene, pest control programmes and foreign materials control (sieves and magnetic traps). Regular verification activities are performed by our Quality Assurance team to ensure that all control measures set are well executed.
We maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) which is designed for continual improvement and to ensure the delivery of products of consistent specification manufactured according to customer requirements. This system enables our manufacturing processes to be monitored, recorded, improved upon and to guarantee that all products are manufactured within the defined tolerances.
Our processing plants are FSSC 22000 and Halal certified. FSSC 22000 certification enables us to implement a HACCP (hazard analysis and critical control points) plan which is a preventative approach to eliminating, controlling and/or reducing potential hazards that can cause finished goods to be regarded as unsafe. This certification imposes further requirements for us to have additional contingency plans in place for emergency situations such as food bio-vigilance and bio-terrorism.
As an approved seasoning manufacturer in Malaysia, our processing plants are regularly inspected by the relevant Halal Authority as well as other third-party certification bodies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. We are also subject to audits under the purview of the Malaysian Food Regulations 1985 and other relevant standards including the Malaysian Standard 1480:2007, ISO 22000:2005, ISO/TS 22002-1 as well as the Codex Alimentarius Standard.
